Dear Members
I am pleased to provide an update on the recent events that have taken place in FSMA for the last few months:
First, the Singapore Management Awards (SMA) that took place on the 17 Aug 2011 at the Merchant Court Swisshotel was a success. Over 220 participants celebrated the achievements of some of the best in the industry. I would like to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE for your support and participation. We look forward to receiving greater support, not only in SMA, but for all events organised by the Association.
Next is an update on the dialogue between FSMA and MAS. We have met up with MAS's Capital Market Department on the 7 July 2011 and 12 Oct 2011. We were glad to be given the opportunity to fully express our views on the Span of Control (SOC) issue. MAS will seriously look into our input and will respond to our feedback in a few months' time. At the same time, we brought up the issue of the 'poaching' activities that had been seen in our industry. Overall, the meetings had been fruitful and MAS had expressed that they welcome regular dialogue sessions with FSMA in the future.
I am also pleased to inform you that FSMA's Facebook page was launched in 30 Sep 2011. We welcome all to visit our Facebook page. We look forward to your constructive feedback and lively interaction with your fellow managers via Facebook.
In addition, FSMA's website will also be re-launched by the end of the year andd we look forward to a brand new look for the website.
With the launch of FSMA's Facebook page and website, we hope to be able to communicate more effectively with our members so that members can receive updates swiftly and participate in more activities organised by FSMA.
Last but not least, watch out for our upcoming annoucement on the Congress 2012 that will take place on 1st and 2nd March 2012. For the first time in FSMA history, the Congress will be held jointly by FSMA and IFPAS. The Association have lined up for you both overseas and local speakers who are successful in their field of profession to share their experiences at the Congress. So make yourself available on these dates nad be part of the history in the making!
Again, we look forward to greater support and participation from everyone for our future events. As December approaches, I wish you a fruitful 2011 and an even greater and exciting year ahead.
